Shelina Esmail hosts UBC Alumni – Wesbrook Talks event

Wesbrook Talks – Influential Women in Business – Hosted by Associate Partner, Shelina Esmail.

On June 10th, alumni UBC and Wesbrook Village at UBC ( presented the inaugural Wesbrook Talks event (first in a three-part series). It featured Vancouver’s Influential Women in Business award-winners Barbara Brink, BA’63; Barbara Dunfield, BEd’80; and Barbara Kaminsky, BA’70, MSW’73, MSc’82, in a panel discussion with CBC’s Renee Filippone.

Wesbrook Talks is a new and exciting series presented by Wesbrook Village and alumni UBC. It is designed to provide intimate opportunities to listen to and engage with prominent alumni in the community.

JABC Gala 2014

PFM Executive Search is a proud supporter of Junior Achievement of British Columbia and all the amazing work they do with youth in our province. Dee Sharma, Director of Human Resources

We are delighted to have been part of the recruitment bringing Dee Sharma to World Duty Free Group (WDFG) as its new Director, of Human Resources for Canada based out of Vancouver.

It has developed its own unique commercial concepts, tailored to match the purchasing preferences of travelers passing through the more than 140 locations in which it operates and has been a huge success story here in Canada through it operations at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

Dee brings senior Human Resources experience in professional associations, insurance and financial, retail, sports and entertainment and municipal government. He comes to WDFG from his role as Director of HR at CGA-Canada where he developed and implemented employee engagement programs allowing CGA-Canada to be a Top 100 Employer in Canada (2008-2009 and 2011-present) as well as a Top Employer in BC (2008 – Present) plus has been personally recognized for his visionary leadership in a variety of senior HR roles over the years.

Dee says he has always had a focus on “…building a strong internal presence that can be directed outward for the advancement of the organization’s goals and objectives” and as such, has the career background, skills and abilities to land on the ground running in the fast-paced business life of a global company which has a true customer and employee focused mantra. Tony Hayes, CEO

We are delighted to have been part of the recruitment bringing Tony Hayes to the Vancouver Island InsuranceCentres (VIIC) as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Tony’s extensive knowledge of the Canadian brokerage business and experience in the insurance industry will be instrumental in helping VIIC enhance its position as the leading insurance brokerage on Vancouver Island.

A native of BC, Tony has spent most of his career in senior sales and marketing roles in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. He has a comprehensive understanding of the BC marketplace and the major stakeholders in the industry. Most recently, Tony served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for RSA Insurance Canada in Toronto.

Together with VIIC’s management team and Board of Directors, Tony will play a key role in developing and leading the next phase of VIIC’s strategic plan. He is looking forward to returning to BC with his family and will reside in Courtenay, working from VIIC Corporate Administration office.
