Argus Control Systems
General Manager

Argus Control Systems Ltd. is a leader in the design and manufacture of automated control systems for greenhouses and other precisely controlled environments. Argus’ hardware and software solutions automate the process of monitoring, regulating and manipulating application-specific growth environments. Used extensively in the rapidly expanding markets of commercial horticulture, ag-biotechnology research, plant-made pharma, cannabis and other custom-controlled applications.

With the global demand for food security, the application of plants for pharmaceutical production and the acceleration of alternative reliable methods of food production, Argus is experiencing rapid growth. Acquired in 2013 by Controlled Environments Limited (CEL), Argus operates as a strategic business unit benefiting from the specialized support offered by a larger firm.

The General Manager will be the operational leader of an established technology business that is scaling rapidly and evolving into the next phase of growth and operations excellence. In addition to realizing this vision, the General Manager will be accountable for the overall leadership and day to day management of the organization. Building, inspiring and coaching a dedicated team will be critical to the overall success of this position.

The General Manager will work along-side CEL’s executive leadership to envision market opportunities, guide a strong senior management team towards continued organic growth, and capitalize on operational efficiencies. Effective communication and strong collaboration with CEL Executives and corporate peers at Conviron will be required to optimize the allocation of collective resources and to leverage organizational strengths and capacity.

The ideal candidate is a progressive senior operational leader who is recognized for his/her general management, business development, communication and interpersonal skills, employing a leadership style that fosters collaboration and a track record of outstanding business results. The successful applicant will have proven strategic planning, business development, technical, financial and operations management experience, ideally within a technology-based environment. He/she will be known and respected as an individual who “rolls up the sleeves” and whose successes are attributable to detailed planning, continuous operational advancements and outstanding relationship skills.

This challenging position requires expert change management and previous experience leading an organization through significant expansion and diversification of its business.
