BC College of Nursing Professionals
Chief Executive Officer / Registrar
The proposed regulations state that the newly formed nursing regulatory body will be called the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). This organization replaces the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC (CLPNBC), the College of Registered Nurses of BC (CRNBC) and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC (CRPNBC). The BCCNP will regulate all nurses in BC (Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs). The fundamental purpose of BCCNP is to regulate the profession in order to serve and protect the public.
A transformative inaugural role exists for an exceptional leader. Reporting to the BCCNP Board, the CEO will be tasked with establishing a clear and confident direction within the province and will take a prominent leadership role on a national and international stage for the evolvement of nursing regulation and protection of the public. In addition, the CEO will be focused on nurturing the organic development of organizational culture, while inspiring progressive and efficient day-to-day operations, proper regulation, comprehensive risk management and effective succession management of the organization.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, collaborative and inspirational leader with excellent business acumen, change management expertise and senior leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder organization. Besides being a natural leader of people, the CEO brings outstanding strategic planning, communications, government relations, networking, mentoring and execution skills.
This position calls for genuine collaboration, keen diplomacy and the proven ability to develop and nurture a culture that stands on its own but is also aligned with the core values of the three legacy Colleges. Experience within a professional regulator, working with Boards and a demonstrated track record of organization-wide transformation are strongly preferred.
