BC Ferry Services (BSFS) is seeking to identify candidates to fill upcoming vacancies on the BCFS Board of Directors. A selection committee has been established to identify suitably qualified candidates and will recommend their appointment to the BC Ferry Authority Board, which holds the statutory responsibility for appointments to the BCFS Board.
BC Ferries is one of the largest ferry companies in the world. It has a long, proud history and today it has 5100 employees operating 47 terminals, 35 vessels with more than 500 sailings each day. The BCFS Board of Directors is responsible for supervising the management of broad-based business operations of the company and for providing strategic direction to senior management while also ensuring there is an enterprise-wide focus on safety, service excellence and innovation.
The committee is seeking a highly qualified individual to join an already seasoned Board of Directors of business and community leaders who bring executive leadership, operational and business acumen and are connected to the coastal communities served by BC Ferries.
If you have strong board governance skills with a commercial or non-profit entity, transportation or goods/people movement expertise, tourism industry knowledge, human resource leadership, and financial literacy plus exposure to public policy and proven support of diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives, we would like to hear from you. As a member of the Board you need to be aware of a demanding level of activity plus have the capacity to work effectively, collegially and collaboratively with fellow Board Members in a complex operating company environment.
