Executive Vice President, Finance, Technology, Supply Chain & Chief Financial Officer

Reporting to the President & COO, the Executive Vice President, Finance, Technology, Supply Chain & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Team, developing strategy and ensuring efficient, sustainable and fiscally responsible operations today and for the future. The CFO leads, motivates and empower a large and diverse team of approximately 600 employees in Finance, Supply Chain and Information Technology disciplines.
The CFO has accountability for BC Hydro’s Finance functions, including financial reporting & policy, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, pension plan, business planning, enterprise risk management and internal audit; Supply Chain functions, including company-wide procurement, materials management and fleet; and Information Technology functions.
The ideal candidate is a smart, articulate and well-rounded senior financial leader who is accustomed to a large, complex, regulated work environment. A collaborative and communicative work style amongst the office environments around the province is a hallmark of success for the organization, therefore, our client seeks a CFO who has effectively led multiple and geographically dispersed functional areas. Candidates will be senior finance leaders, in possession of the CPA designation and strategic members of a Senior Leadership Team.
Although, he/she will possess strong technical and systems experience, the CFO must also be comfortable interacting and collaborating with business and operational leaders on operational, capital project and strategic matters. The CFO sets a strong example of high performance and acts as a change leader in a complex organization. Stakeholder management is core to success in this role. In this dynamic environment, practicality, resourcefulness, sensitivity to people and a comfort level with ambiguity and changing priorities will be important characteristics. Additionally, experience overseeing Supply Chain and/or Information Technology areas would be a distinct benefit.
