Director, Player Health

The Director, Player Health provides exceptional leadership, expertise and strategic advice on a range of matters pertaining to the health of BCLC’s overall player population. With responsibility for BCLC’s Harm Reduction Strategy and Player Health Program, and in support the company’s social purpose, this role partners with business leaders within BCLC and casino Service Providers, and collaborates with a variety of external stakeholders to maintain BCLC’s position as an innovator and leader in Player Health.
Reporting to the Chief Social Purpose Officer and VP, Player Experience, the Director is responsible for programming that impacts all lines of BCLC’s business, regularly interacts and collaborates with other BCLC functions, and is frequently called upon to represent BCLC to media, government partners, and other stakeholders. The Director is responsible for maintaining an active understanding of existing and emerging responsible and problem gambling research, works with researchers and experts to identify behaviour change techniques, and looks for ways to operationalize and monitor these techniques. In addition, the Director has responsibility for BCLC’s award winning, internationally recognized GameSense program.
As the ideal candidate, you have built your career and gained solid leadership experience within a social purpose operation that has a mandate to influence behaviour and behaviour change, ideally within the gambling or entertainment industries. You are a strategic leader with a track record in operationalizing strategic goals, and can take complex concepts, research and theories and apply them in a fast-paced, customer-centred operation. You are a values-based leader who has demonstrated an alignment with BCLC’s values of Integrity, Community and Respect. Your ability to build relationships at all levels and to work effective and collaboratively with operators and senior decision makers has been a hallmark of your success.
