In order to enhance the City’s efforts in this area, an inaugural Director, People & Culture role has been created. The Director will provide inspiring leadership and a truly strategic focus when implementing thoughtful programs and solutions that enhance the employee experience. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, the Director will work closely with the CAO and Senior Leadership team to drive meaningful employee engagement, support Reconciliation, and diversity and inclusion principles and ensure the City of North Vancouver is seen as an employer of choice throughout the region.

The Director, People & Culture will be sharply focused on providing strategic leadership across all functional areas that impact employees, including leadership and organizational development, health and wellness, Reconciliation, diversity, equity and inclusion, labour relations, and employee engagement. The position develops strategies to enhance and foster a healthy, purpose-driven culture and works diligently to deliver results, while being engaged and passionate around the progressive civic work that the City of North Vancouver is undertaking on behalf of its citizenry.

An experienced steward of organizational development and culture-shift, the ideal candidate will be recognized as a collaborative, nimble and engaging ‘people-centric’ professional who conveys confidence that the People and Culture Department is attentive and service-focused. The inaugural Director will be a critical thinker who has demonstrated success building solid relationships with all levels of an organization and will be an agent of change who thrives in a progressive environment and has a reputation for effectively supporting organizational transformation with vibrant creativity.
