Conair’s employees equip the company’s 70 aircraft with the latest tools and technology, going above and beyond to ensure aircraft are ready to dispatch when needed to respond to wildfires.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Human Resources (Director) plays a key role in supporting Conair’s business leaders to deliver on their people strategies in a complex and stimulating environment. In addition to developing and implementing programs to support Conair’s HR initiatives and the achievement of key performance indicators, the Director is responsible for overseeing departmental planning, job evaluation, employee development, recruitment/retention, labour relations, and talent management/succession planning. Leading a team of human resources professionals, the Director provides coaching, guidance, and advice to the team and to leaders at all levels of the organization. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director works collaboratively with their peers to ensure a high level of professionalism and customer focus in the delivery of human resources services and expertise across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic human resources generalist with a true passion for the power effective human resources practices can have on organisational performance. The Director will bring the ability to operate at a strategic level in support of organisational goals and operations as a whole, while being able to roll up their sleeves and dive into the day-to-day needs of the department. A true HR professional, the Director brings proven success in facilitating a supportive and collaborative organisational culture through their ability to connect and build credibility at all levels of the organization. They are a seasoned leader who is confident in their knowledge of all aspects of HR practices and can provide expertise and support in all areas. The Director is a strong leader who works collaboratively with their peers and is known for being both a coach and mentor to their teams. The incumbent’s experience includes progressively senior roles within a complex, multi-collaborator environment, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in an operational environment.
