Director, Supply Chain

For over 50 years, Conair Group Inc. (Conair) has led the aerial firefighting industry, supporting government agencies around the world with the largest, privately owned, fixed-wing fleet in the world. Conair’s employees equip the company’s 70 aircraft with the latest tools and technology, going above and beyond to ensure aircraft are ready to dispatch when needed to respond to wildfires.

Reporting to the VP, Operations, covering two aspects of the business including Flight Operation and Production, the Director, Supply Chain optimizes and coordinates the value chain of the company. The principal tasks of this role are the design, continuous improvement and management of the whole supply chain from ‘end-to-end’, ensuring supply chain excellence. The Director oversees procurement, strategic purchasing, logistics, inventory management, vendor management, material planning, and internal and external material flow. In addition to providing day-to-day management of the department, the Director also works collaboratively with executives, management peers, staff across the organization, suppliers and a wide variety of service providers. This department has a critical role in every stream of Conair’s strategy and an opportunity to contribute to the organization’s purpose of serving the customer and the community it supports.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned supply chain and contract management professional who has worked in a large, complex environment with a highly diverse customer base and stakeholder groups. The individual will bring knowledge leading mission critical procurement programs and will have leveraged systems and established new processes in constant pursuit of excellence. A customer-centric mindset and collaborative vendor management philosophy will be of utmost importance. The new Director will have proven experience developing and motivating a high performing team with the ability to nurture a work environment that is proactive, flexible and responsive to change.
