With a renewed focus on lifelong-learning and the understanding that art and design touch all facets of life, Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) is seeking a transformative leader to enable this critical function to serve community and beyond. The Executive Director, Continuing Studies will be tasked with reimaging new pathways and offerings to engage learners at all stages of life, to build partnerships both within and beyond the Institution, and to energize curriculum in a way that responds to our community while staying aligned to ECUAD’s Strategic Goals, including a focus on Indigenization and Decolonization.
The Executive Director, Continuing Studies is responsible for leadership and strategic direction of all Continuing Studies programs, partnerships, and outreach initiatives, in consultation with the Vice-President, Academic + Provost, the Deans, faculty and other members of the University community. In alignment with strategic, academic and enrolment planning, the Executive Director supports the Continuing Studies team in the development of programs, courses, workshops, summer institutes and other related programs that meet the holistic needs of ECUAD’s community of learners.
The Executive Director has mandate for reviewing current departmental resources and operations to identity optimal models of resource allocation to meet strategic objectives, and to provide entrepreneurial leadership and visioning within this context. The Executive Director is also responsible for developing external partnerships and outreach initiatives with the local and regional art and design community, business, industry and other educational institutions. Holding a key place on the Academic team, the Executive Director works collaboratively with academic and other senior administrators to support an integrated model of student access, enrolment, and success.
