Chief Financial Officer
InTransitBC is the entity contracted by TransLink for the design, construction, partial financing, operation and maintenance of the Canada Line rapid transit line, that connects downtown Vancouver with the City of Richmond and YVR. Representing the private sector in a 35-year “design-build-finance-operate-maintain” model, this public-private partnership is the first of its kind in Canada, and continues to deliver on their commitment to world-class safety, speed, reliability and customer satisfaction since beginning operations in 2009.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for providing leadership and oversight on all aspects of the organization’s financial and administrative activities. As a senior member of the executive team, you will work closely with the CEO, Audit Committee and shareholder group to provide strategic guidance and management of financial affairs as they relate to forecasting debt, covenant, revenue management, policy and procedure, financial reporting and analysis, and internal control systems. Additionally, you will ensure an effective framework of accountability, control and compliance is established and maintained.
As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned finance leader who has successfully operated within a similarly complex P3 environment, preferably within the infrastructure sector, and have in-depth knowledge of corporate, project or structured finance, in addition to traditional financial management skills. You are a confident and articulate communicator who is equally comfortable presenting to a Board, or rolling your sleeves up to assist your team. You are able to operate autonomously and independently, but value your colleagues’ work and input towards achieving corporate objectives.
A minimum of ten years’ experience in industry is complemented by a CPA designation (preferably from a recognizable accounting/audit firm), and a post-secondary education in a related field. Experience in the P3 sector and knowledge of IFRS are prerequisites. Experience in corporate finance and knowledge of complex contracts will be an asset.
