Maplewood Care Society
Chief Executive Officer
Maplewood Care Society (“MCS”) is a non-profit organization providing outstanding care and support to its residents and their families at two care homes: MSA Manor and Maplewood House. In addition to providing 109 long-term care beds, the organization also provides support to older adults and their families through an Adult Day Program and two respite beds. All services and programs are funded through Fraser Health Authority (“FHA”).
There are many exciting things happening at MCS. In 2024, MCS launched the Maplewood Care Foundation (the “Foundation”), a charitable organization created to benefit local seniors. The Foundation establishes a working capital pool to support innovation and best practices in seniors’ care. MCS is also one year into a five year Caring for Caregivers program, aimed at supporting unpaid caregivers. In addition, MCS has signed an agreement with FHA to redevelop and rebuild the care home.
As the result of a planned Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) departure, an opportunity exists to take on this key leadership role, providing strategic leadership and executive oversight for MCS. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO ensures effective governance support, operational excellence, high-quality service delivery, financial sustainability, and positive community and partner relationships. The CEO fosters a mission-driven organizational culture that supports person-centered care, employee engagement, innovation and continuous improvement. In addition, they will be tasked with stewarding a variety of major initiatives, including the major capital redevelopment, the Caring for Caregivers program, and supporting the newly created Foundation.
