In this transformational role, the Chief People, Nursing & Health Professionals Officer (CPN & HPO) oversees an integrated portfolio and plays a key role in creating innovative solutions to deal with the changing dynamics in public healthcare.

Working with the SLT, the CPN & HPO contributes to the development and execution of a vision and culture for service delivery that embraces quality, safety, inclusivity and professional excellence while building a supportive work and learning environment for staff. The successful candidate will inspire new levels of creativity and innovation within the organization to positively influence care delivery and service outcomes and advance evidence-based practice. It will be paramount for them to build on and strengthen PHC’s reputation as an Employer of Choice for prospective employees and ensure there are supports in place for leadership development and succession planning. As PHC’s most senior nursing and professional practice leader, the CPN & HPO drives the development and implementation of key professional practice strategies, programs and initiatives such as staffing model development and reviews, role design, professional standards and scope of practice, clinical education, change management and clinical infrastructure to make PHC ready for the future delivery of health care.

In addition, the CPN & HPO oversees the planning, delivery and implementation of information systems used in both the clinical and people services environment. Specifically, this means the CPN & HPO will ensure the adoption and enhancement of clinical and human resources information systems to generate and disseminate data for use in decision-making and improved service delivery in all practice and business settings.

As the ideal candidate, you are a consummate relationship builder, collaborator, influencer and change leader. You have deep experience in leading teams, specifically as it relates to the management of the professional practice areas and resource management. Demonstrated abilities in working with diverse partners and bringing people together around a common vision with focused outcomes. You have a natural comfort for innovation, and you use that filter when considering programs and initiatives, and introducing new technologies.

The successful candidate must possess a current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse plus proven years of progressive senior leadership experience in a large, multi-site unionized health care organization.
