President & Chief Executive Officer

Providence Living is a newly created non-profit Catholic-sponsored health care organization focused on long-term care, assisted living, housing, and other community services to support seniors and their family members. Established by Providence Health Care, its formation came from a deep desire to completely rethink, innovate, and reimagine the experience of seniors and others in need of care, replacing care homes with genuine communities. In the coming years, Providence Living expects to grow from 169 to over 800 beds as the transfer of long-term services from Providence Health Care to Providence Living is completed. 

An incredible opportunity exists for an individual to make a significant contribution to seniors’ care in our province. The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable to the Board for providing overall leadership and vision for Providence Living. Working with the Board, the CEO leads the organization’s transformation, redevelopment, and growth strategy for seniors’ care services including the management of significant and complex partnerships, change initiatives, and major capital developments. The CEO will be at the forefront of the organization’s efforts to challenge the status quo, innovate within the sector, and sponsor the creation and implementation of new models of seniors’ care.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional, innovative leader that blends a passion for seniors’ care with business acumen and who has experience establishing and working within complex partnerships. The CEO will be recognised as a transformational, credible, and influential professional who is motivated to build and expand an organization. Ideally, the candidate brings experience running all aspects of an organization, with some understanding of the unique nature of a faith-based enterprise. They have worked closely with Boards of Directors to guide strategy development and set priorities and have a reputation as an outstanding motivator and mentor.

The selected candidate must be a self-starter and able to adapt to a continually evolving environment while bringing an ability to scale up an organization and improve service and program delivery. Superior leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and a personal values alignment with the organization are the hallmarks of a suitable candidate. In addition, the CEO is a compassionate individual and knows how to build great relationships, uncover new ideas, and inspire people to excel.
