Refrigerative Supply Limited (RSL) is a wholesale distributor of equipment and parts to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration trades. Serving Western Canada through 15 branches, RSL prides itself on having exceptional customer service, well-stocked inventory, and knowledgeable staff. RSL began with a single branch in Vancouver in 1945, then expanded to Calgary and Edmonton in the 1950s. Since then, RSL has expanded to 15 branches and 2 distribution centres located throughout Western Canada, spanning from Victoria to Winnipeg. 2020 will see the opening of a branch in Abbotsford and the completion of the second distribution centre in Regina. As a family business, RSL believes in the values of accountability, integrity, and trust, where every customer and every employee are equally important. The foundation of the business has always been and will continue to be a focus on the customer.
The President is responsible for establishing the vision and strategy and achieving the overall growth of RSL within the authority given by the Company’s owners and in collaboration with the senior leadership team. The incumbent will inspire, coach and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization. The President will create an organizational environment that stimulates the morale, creativity and productivity of its people that ultimately supports a positive and productive work culture for all employees. While building on the capability and competencies of the organization, the incumbent will also be an active ambassador for RSL in the communities in which it does business.
The ideal candidate will bring an empowering leadership and dynamic interpersonal style combined with sound technical know-how developed in a related business setting where quality of product and customer service are of paramount importance. This individual will be entrepreneurial in spirit and possess a broad understanding of all business functions with a key focus on sales, marketing, operations, risk management, finance, business development, and talent management.
The President will be a collaborative and communicative leader, ensuring team members are engaged and focused on common goals. This individual will have demonstrated an ability to lead an organization that is values-based, embracing innovative ideas and creative approaches. Accustomed to managing large teams across multiple locations and different geographic regions, the President will implement and refine systems, processes and procedures to ensure delivery of unparalleled results, not only for RSL’s bottom line, but for its customers and team members alike. With the belief that a high-touch experience is paramount to customer satisfaction, the President will lead by example, encouraging an authentic and innovative approach amongst front-line team members and management, in their drive to achieve personal, professional and corporate goals.
