The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) provides regional governance and services throughout Vancouver Island’s beautiful central east coast. Communities within the region include the municipalities of Nanaimo, Lantzville, Parksville, and Qualicum Beach, as well as seven unincorporated Electoral Areas. Established in 1967, the RDN is one of British Columbia’s most populous Regional Districts and home to more than 170,000. It is also an award-winning organization and develops and oversees innovative programs that effectively steward the region’s environment and resources, and create a positive quality of life for residents.

The General Manager, Transit & Emergency Services (the GM, TES) directs, coordinates and plans staff activities related to transportation and emergency services functions. The GM, TES oversees the Regional District’s transportation and emergency services policy direction and coordinates and provides advice to the Board and Committees. Working closely with other levels of government, not-for-profit societies and other agencies, the GM, TES ensures a coordinated approach to both service areas across the RDN, while also supporting and collaborating with local delivery bodies to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to be effective on the ground.
