Reporting directly to both the President and the Chief Operating Officer and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for providing leadership and overall direction in accounting, finance, human resources and IT functions for the development arm of Strand. The incumbent will act as a trusted leader within the organization overseeing the respective teams and ensuring strong financial reporting, capital & finance strategy, risk management, people and IT systems. The CFO is a visionary and influential leader with an entrepreneurial business mindset in addition to possessing the requisite technical, commercial, and operational know-how to safeguard & optimize the organization’s assets.
Leading and mentoring a professional team, the CFO ensures proper principles and reporting standards are followed while building relationships and overseeing all financial activities of the organizations, including corporate finance, accounting, internal controls, asset management, tax, strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
The ideal candidate is a progressive, driven and business-minded senior financial leader who is accustomed to an entrepreneurial and fast-growing organization. The incumbent has demonstrated leadership and has been successful in developing, implementing and evaluating financial programs and structures, processes and systems that provide a high level of service and performance. Superior interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to think strategically and instill a continuous improvement mindset are hallmarks of a suitable candidate. This individual will bring considerable experience working with a wide range of partner groups to implement new initiatives and can move from consultation to results in an inclusive and collaborative way. The incoming CFO’s knowledge and career experience will be supported by an appropriate educational background, CPA designation and experience in the real estate development sector.
