The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team, driving entrepreneurial growth and providing strategic expertise, oversight of financial structuring and leadership to the organization. Reporting directly to both the President and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO is responsible for the overall direction of the finance, accounting, human resources, and IT functions for Strand. The incumbent will act as a trusted leader within the organization and ensuring thoughtful and tactical planning of capital & finance strategies, risk management, talent, financial reporting and IT systems oversight. Leading and mentoring a highly experienced professional team, the CFO oversees all financial activities of the organization, while building relationships and ensuring best financial practices are followed.

The CFO will be a valued member of the Executive Leadership Team, with opportunities to directly invest in each development, and will be an active participant in the development and implementation of the corporate strategic plan. The ideal candidate is a visionary and influential leader with strong industry relationships, while being unafraid to roll up their sleeves, should situations dictate. The ideal candidate also possesses an entrepreneurial business mindset in addition to the requisite technical, commercial, and operational acumen necessary to optimize & safeguard the organization’s assets. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership capabilities and have been successful in implementing complex, detailed financial structures and strategies at both corporate and project levels. Superior interpersonal and communication skills, a strategic and risk-oriented mindset, and a desire to constantly progress are hallmarks of a suitable candidate. This individual will bring considerable experience working with a wide range of partner groups and institutions to implement a variety of approaches to structured finance. The incoming CFO’s knowledge and career experience will be supported by an appropriate educational background, CPA designation and extensive, direct experience in the real estate development sector.
