Celebrated as one of BC’s Top Employers and ranked with Skytrax Awards as Best Airport in North America year after year, the Vancouver Airport Authority is seeking a progressive leader in the role of Director, Supply Management.  Reporting to the Vice President, Legal & Supply Management, the Director, Supply Management will oversee all aspects of the supply of goods and services to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) during a time of transformational change. Leading a team of 15 staff in the Supply Management Team (SMT), this role offers an opportunity to continue to build a sustainable and strategic approach to procurement and inventory management, as well as supporting YVR’s ongoing asset management program.

The Director provides day-to-day management of the SMT and works closely and collaboratively with executives, management peers, staff across the organization, suppliers and a wide variety of service providers. SMT’s goal is to procure goods and services in a timely and sustainable manner, while obtaining the best overall value and supporting the business units in achieving their objectives. SMT has a role in every stream of YVR’s strategy and an opportunity to contribute in a material way to YVR’s purpose of serving the community and the economy it supports.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned supply chain and vendor management professional who has worked in a large, complex environment with a highly diverse customer base and stakeholder groups. The individual will have experience leading mission critical procurement programs and will have leveraged systems and established new processes in constant pursuit of excellence. A customer-centric mindset and collaborative vendor management philosophy will be of utmost importance. The ideal candidate will be a visionary individual who works effectively and respectively with the team, the organization and the communities YVR touches.
