Seldom does such a compelling finance position come along with a progressive and innovative organization such as YVR. The Director, Finance and Controller will oversee the Airport Authority’s entire accounting function, including external financial reporting, tax, and all financial transaction cycles, ensuring appropriate design and implementation of processes and controls. The incumbent will manage the strategic development of financial policies, procedures and be the primary sponsor of the ERP system to ensure operational excellence while contributing significantly to the success of the YVR. As a key resource to the CFO, the incumbent will lead a team of professionals to ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance while seeking out opportunities to improve on current processes and programs.
As the ideal candidate you are a designated accountant, known for your high emotional intelligence, leadership and communication skills and your ability to ensure effective accounting, financial reporting and compliance. Extensive experience creating reports which appraise, interpret and communicate financial information and objectives combined with a background working within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment will be paramount. You thrive in a collaborative, team-based work setting and consistently demonstrate an enthusiastic and positive attitude. Experience working closely with operations and providing advice to key business units around both finance and systems is essential.
