A newly established senior leadership role with one of BC’s Top Employers at WorkSafeBC has emerged, and an accomplished individual is sought to fill this unique and exciting position. Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Vice-President, Claims & Rehabilitation Services is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, an advisory body to the CEO.  As a member of the Executive Leadership Team you will collaborate with your peers on enterprise level vision, strategic direction, performance metrics, financial plans, business plans, decision and risk management to ensure the success of WorkSafeBC as a whole, its employees and its stakeholders. The VP, Claims and Rehabilitation Services leads, motivates and empowers a large and diverse team of approximately 1,300 employees throughout the province and provides enterprise wide leadership to the organization.

This Division’s mandate is to ensure the fair, consistent, and timely adjudication of claims and provision of wage loss and disability benefits for injured workers, the facilitation of safe and suitable return-to-work programs, the provision of professional disability management assistance and vocational rehabilitation services, and the coordination of appropriate and timely medical assistance.

The incumbent works collaboratively with the Division Directors and provides leadership and direction to ensure that all activities are established with innovative practices in mind and implemented to support the organization’s strategic and annual business plans within a client-focused service delivery model. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the incumbent engages in and actively contributes to strategic thinking, and translates the resulting strategies and visions into policy development, planning, and decision-making activities; and co-ordinates Claims & Rehabilitation Services activities with other WorkSafeBC Divisions to provide a wide range of services under WorkSafeBC legislation and policies.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven passion and drive to deliver excellence and quality along with a respected strength of character that develops trust and respect from others. This individual is a seasoned leader, well-versed in effecting change in the improvement of operations and customer service delivery. With excellence in service delivery being core to their success, the incumbent is a skilled leader who has worked within a highly regulated organization, preferably within an insurance related industry. Strategic and visionary, the ideal candidate will have a track record in leading large,diverse teams in a collaborative environment and integrating various functions to meet common goals and objectives. They will have outstanding relationship skills and the ability to work with all of WorkSafeBC’s unique working groups, while remaining committed to maintaining the integrity of the organization’s mission and values.
