Direct Quote Island Savings President – Randy Bertsch:

After an in-depth search for the right blend of experience, creativity and leadership qualities, it’s my immense pleasure to introduce you to Carsten Mildenstein, Vice-President Credit for the Island Savings region as of March 30.

Currently Vice-President of Commercial Banking with BMO in Red Deer, Carsten is thrilled to be returning to the credit union system in this role. Prior to BMO, Carsten held leadership positions in business banking at both Servus and Mountain View Credit Union and the progressive, member-focused philosophy of our system fits well with both his leadership style and the value he places on relationships. Carsten’s professional background also includes five years running his own farm in Saskatchewan — first-hand experience that will be vital to our business development goals for the Islands’ agricultural sector.

An open and collaborative leader, Carsten is as focused on people as he is on the business. His strength as a coach, ability to lead change and commitment to balance risk, sales and what’s truly best for our members will no doubt move the dial on our lending portfolio through 2015 and beyond.

Based out of our regional office in Duncan, Carsten will spend his first month on the job in branches and markets getting to know our business through the eyes of both employees and members.
