PFM Executive Search is honored to announce the appointment of David Allen as the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Courtenay.
David has held progressive administrative leadership roles within local government for the last 13 years. Most recently he served as CAO for the Town of Golden, one of two resort municipalities in British Columbia. In Golden, he had been instrumental in leading a number of strategic initiatives that has enhanced the performance of the city and serving the citizens of Golden. Before joining Golden, he was the CAO of the District of Logan Lake where he directly oversaw the administration of the policy development, planning, environment, protective services, public works, community services, tourism and marketing. David began his career in the private sector where he was the Principal of Genesis Environmental Consulting. The company’s focus was on environmental management. His clients were diverse which included municipalities, regional districts and NGOs. After a successful career in the private sector, he decided to pursue the work of a civil servant within local government. He began with the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District as Manager, Utilities and Community Services and continued to enhance his career by becoming the Director, Development Services for Village of Pemberton.
The City of Courtenay is a culturally diverse, scenic city of approximately 24,000 people. Courtenay is on the east coast of Vancouver Island and located within the traditional lands of the K’ómoks First Nation.
