We have had the honor of working with the team from the Northern Health Authority to recruit their new Chief Medical Health Officer. After an exhaustive search, we found Dr. Sandra Allison.
Sandra holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary, a Medical Degree and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Manitoba. She completed a residency in Family Medicine and is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians. Sandra also completed a residency in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
Sandra comes to Northern Health from Prairie Mountain Health based in Brandon, Manitoba where she has practiced as a Medical Health Officer for the health region over the past two years. Sandra also actively practices as a family physician in medical clinics in Brandon, Churchill, and Winnipeg. Sandra is an Assistant Professor, University of Manitoba in the Departments of Community Health Sciences and Family Medicine as well as a Faculty Advisor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Brandon University. Through these roles, Sandra has gained a wealth of experience that will contribute significantly to Northern Health’s leadership team.
