New Deputy Chief Constable Appointed by the Abbotsford Police Department

Our search firm led a recruitment process with the Abbotsford Police Department involving the Police Chief and two members from the Police Board. The following is from the official announcement from Chief Constable, Bob Rich:

I am very pleased to announce the new Deputy Chief Constable to the Abbotsford Police Department.  Effective November 16, 2015, Mike Serr from the Vancouver Police Department will join our team as Deputy Chief Constable taking command of the Administration Division.

Inspector Serr is a 25 year VPD member with experience in a variety of challenging and demanding positions.  Since January 2013, he has been in charge of the VPD’s Organized Crime Section.  He is a proven leader with a strong work ethic and an impressive history of accomplishments in operational, investigative, and administrative matters.  Insp. Serr holds a Bachelor of Arts, Criminology from Simon Fraser University.  He is well-qualified for the important responsibility of Deputy Chief and has the skills, knowledge and strength of character to serve the dedicated men and women of the Abbotsford Police Department.
