Ciro Panessa – President & CEO – Northern Health

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Ciro Panessa has accepted the role of President & Chief Executive Officer with Northern Health, effective September 5th.

Ciro joined Northern Health in 2014 as the first Regional Director, Chronic Diseases and since 2017, he has been the Northwest Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Northern Health, he worked for the Ministry of Health as the Director, Blood Borne Pathogens. Ciro has been the recipient of the Premier’s Award for Innovation, the UBC Young Alumnus Award, a CIHR Fellowship for the National Canadian Research Training Program in Hepatitis C and the Canadian Nurses Foundation Fellowship for Hepatology Nursing. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of British Columbia and a Family Nurse Practitioner Advanced Graduate Diploma from Athabasca University.

Alexandra Korinowsky – Executive Director, Communications, Marketing + Public Affairs – Emily Carr University of Art & Design

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce the appointment of Alexandra Korinowsky as Executive Director, Communications, Marketing + Public Affairs with Emily Carr University of Art & Design, effective immediately.

Alex takes on the executive directorship after serving as Interim Executive Director, Communications, Marketing + Public Affairs, and as Communications Manager, both at ECU. She is a seasoned communications professional, bringing extensive experience in communications, public affairs, and event and project management to the position. She has worked in diverse sectors including cultural, government, non-profit and healthcare.

Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural studies and art history from McGill University, and a post-graduate certificate in corporate communications and public relations from Toronto’s Centennial College. She has aspirations to pursue a masters degree as part of her commitment to lifelong learning.

During the year Alex has served at ECU, she has worked on numerous organizational priorities including strengthening ECU’s government relations practices, improving budget communications, supporting strategic planning and collective bargaining, and, primarily, seeing the Communications + Marketing department through a challenging period of change and transition.

Ramin Seifi – Director, Professional Practice, Standards, and Development – EGBC

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Ramin Seifi, P.Eng., FEC, has accepted the role of Director, Professional Practice, Standards, and Development with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, effective June 26.

In this role, Ramin will oversee the organization’s professional standards regulations and requirements, including firm regulation, regulatory requirements for registrants, and guideline and standards development.

Ramin is a visionary leader with over 30 years of successful collaboration in planning, engineering, and administrative roles in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has spent the last 23 years at the Township of Langley in progressively senior roles, most recently as the General Manager, Engineering and Community Development, with oversight of more than 300 staff across 10 different departments. Prior to his time with the Township of Langley, Ramin was a Project Manager for McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. in the Lower Mainland and Prince George.

Ramin has been a long-time volunteer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. He has served as a registration interviewer since 2007 and has also been an executive member of the Tri-Cities branch and the municipal engineers division.

Elisabeth Whiting – Chief Executive Officer – Healthcare Benefit Trust

Elisabeth has served as the Vice President Operations and Administration, and senior member of the HBT Executive & Management team since 2010. She was appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2023. Elisabeth is a dedicated and innovative leader with a proven track record of success in the provision and delivery of health benefits to the health, community, and broader public sector. She has built strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, beneficiaries, service providers and the HBT team. She has a multi-disciplinary background and is successful at leading change within complex business environments. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning the sectors of health and finance including group benefits and health insurance, biopharmaceutical development, legal, and academic medical and health research.

Marc Turpin – Vice President, Planning & Infrastructure – Victoria Airport Authority

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Marc Turpin has accepted the role of Vice President, Planning and Infrastructure with the Victoria Airport Authority, effective July 17, 2023.

Marc is joining VAA from Hamilton International Airport, where he is a member of the executive team with responsibility for operations, facilities management, maintenance, and capital programs. Prior to joining Hamilton International Airport, Marc spent twenty years at Toronto Pearson International Airport where he held a number of positions, including Director of Technical Performance, General Manager Properties and Commercial Agreement Administration, and Manager Groundside Systems. Marc is a P. Eng. and has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
