Jennifer Ogeer – University Veterinarian – University of British Columbia

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Dr. Jennifer Ogeer has accepted the role of University Veterinarian for the University of British Columbia, effective June 1st, 2023.

Dr. Ogeer is joining UBC from Antech Diagnostics (Mars Petcare), where she was the Vice-President Medical Science & Innovation. Jennifer has a rich background, and has been a clinical veterinarian, a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University, and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine & Critical care at the University of Saskatchewan. Jennifer received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, along with a Master of Science in Critical Care and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour all from the University of Guelph and holds an Executive MBA from the University of Western Ontario. She has held several leadership roles in not-for-profit organizations, including service as the Treasurer and Executive Board Member of the Black Veterinary Association of Canada, Chair of the Board of Directors of Veterinarians without Borders, and is the incoming Chair of the Ontario Veterinary College PetTrust Board of Directors.

Jennifer is excited to join UBC, and to work with their exemplary Animal Care Services team and all who support their Animal Care and Use Program.

Anita Sidhu – Director, HR Services – Langara College

PFM Executive Search is thrilled to announce that Anita Sidhu is joining Langara College as the new Director, HR Services, effective April 28, 2023.

Among her many duties as Director, HR Services, Anita will be responsible for strategic HR planning and administration. In collaboration with the Director, HR Programs, Systems, and Payroll, she will help oversee the Talent Management programs and services that support HR operations including employee and labour relations, recruitment and retention, performance management, classification, HR consultancy, and Human Rights.

Anita brings over 14 years of senior human resources and labour relations experience, in both post secondary and the public sector, most recently as the Manager, Human Resources at British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to that, she worked in HR roles at the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Retirement Concepts and Sauder School of Business.

Jeff Strickland – Director, Human Resources – Conair Group Ltd

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Jeff Strickland has accepted the role of Director, Human Resources with Conair Group Ltd, effective May 15th, 2023.

Jeff is a dedicated Business Operations & Human Resources leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and business growth. He comes to Conair from the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), where he served as their Vice President, Operations for many years. He has previously held the Vice President, Human Resources role with PNE, as well as the Director, Human Resources role with the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. At PNE, Jeff worked to create new business opportunities and execute strategies while building strong relationships with his team and stakeholders alike.

Christopher Usih – Superintendent of Schools – Richmond School District

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Christopher Usih has accepted the role of Superintendent of Schools for the Richmond School District, effective from the start of the next school year.

Christopher will be coming to Richmond from the Calgary Board of Education (CBE), where he is serving as the Chief Superintendent of Schools. During his tenure there, he worked with staff and partners to improve academic achievement and created an environment where every student had the opportunity to thrive. Prior to joining the CBE, Christopher spent 27 years with the Toronto District School Board, serving in various roles such as high school math teacher, principal, superintendent of student success, and deputy superintendent.

Christopher is an award-winning educator who holds a master’s degree in education and undergraduate credentials in mathematics and computer science. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics education at the University of Toronto.
