Dale Mullings – Associate Vice President, Students for The University of British Columbia – Okanagan

PFM Executive Search is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dale Mullings as the new Associate Vice President, Students for The University of British Columbia – Okanagan! He will commence his employment on September 1st, 2020.

Dale comes to UBC from the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), where he has served since 2013 as Assistant Dean, Students and International Initiatives. Previously, he served as UTM’s Director, Residence and Student Life, and Director of Student Housing and Residence Life, and was an Instructor in Education Studies.

A skilled administrator and communicator, Dale has a strong record of collaboration with students, faculty, staff and community members. With an emphasis on integrated learning, he has led the development of several major student learning and development initiatives in partnership with academic departments, local school boards and non-profit organizations, and globally with non-governmental organizations and universities abroad. These included the Centre for Student Engagement, the International Education Centre and, in consultation with the Council of Aboriginal Initiatives Elders’ Circle, UTM’s Indigenous Centre.

Dale holds a Master of Education degree in higher education from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in political science and English, and is a PhD candidate in leadership, adult and higher education at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

Leslie Stevens – Deputy Chief Constable for the Port Moody Police Department

PFM Executive Search is pleased to announce that Inspector Leslie Stevens is the successful candidate for the Port Moody Police Deputy Chief Constable position, effective October 2020.

Leslie grew up in Montreal’s West Island neighborhood participating in competitive sports from a young age and earning a Diploma in Applied Sciences at John Abbott College and a B.A. in Economics at McGill University. She moved to B.C. in 1989 and worked in the banking industry before joining the Vancouver Police Department in 1992.

In 1996, Leslie moved to Port Moody and joined the PMPD. She has fond memories of living here and working as a front line officer, and is excited to be returning to this community.

In 1998, Leslie moved back to Vancouver and rejoined the VPD, initially working Patrol and Financial Crime. Promoted to Sergeant, she was assigned to the Planning, Research & Audit Section, Financial Crime, and Human Resources.

Promoted to Inspector in 2012, Leslie spent a year as a Discipline Authority, followed by two years as Officer in Charge of the Professional Standards Section. In 2015, she returned to Operations as the District 3 Commander, responsible for the deployment of 145 front line police officers. In 2018, she was seconded as Bureau Director to the Criminal Intelligence Service of B.C. and the Yukon, a multi-jurisdictional integrated unit comprised of police professionals.

Gregory Steves – Vice President, Policy & Legal Services for the Land Title & Survey Authority of BC (LTSA)

PFM Executive Search is pleased to announce that Gregory Steves has been appointed as the new Vice President, Policy & Legal Services of the Land Title & Survey Authority of BC (LTSA).

Gregory joins the LTSA from the BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing where he most recently was Assistant Deputy Minister of the Office of Housing and Construction Standards. He brings strong leadership acumen and expertise in policy, as well as excellent relationships across government and the sectors served by the LTSA. His comprehensive understanding in how policy and legislation is introduced and implemented within BC will aid LTSA in meeting its growth goal.

Gregory will be starting with LTSA on Monday, August 24th.

Robert Bartlett – Chief Administrative Officer for the District of West Vancouver

Robert Bartlett comes to West Vancouver from the City of Vancouver, where he was Chief Risk Officer & Director of Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity & Compliance. His background includes 20 years of experience at all levels in the public sector. He has had senior leadership positions with the City of Vancouver, at two Olympics and led the NATO file on behalf of the UK Government, in addition to acting as Chair for a non-profit organization for the past 6 years.

Tiffanie Ting – Executive Director of Continuing Studies for Emily Carr University of Art + Design

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce the appointment of Tiffanie Ting as the new Executive Director of Continuing Studies for Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU)! She will commence her employment on Monday, July 6th, 2020.

In this role, Tiffanie will be providing leadership and strategic direction for all of ECU’s Continuing Studies programs, partnerships and outreach initiatives. She will be working closely with staff, faculty and the entire Academic Affairs team as they broaden their outreach and programming in lielong learning initiatives.

Tiffanie joins ECU with a record of outstanding academic, pedagogical and research achievement. She most recently served as Dean of Cabot House and Lecturer on Sociology at Harvard University, and has worked in art museums in both Canada and the U.S., focusing on art education and community engagement.

Tiffanie has a doctorate in Culture, Communities and Education from Harvard, as well as previous degrees in education (Master of Education, Harvard), and art history and psychology (Bachelor of Arts, University of Toronto).

Her academic interests include issues of identity and learning in cultural institutions; qualitative research design; the sociology of education; and the sociology of art. Most recently, Tiffanie’s work has centred around investigating students’ narratives of academic decision-making and sense of purpose in the context of a liberal arts education.

This move represents a homecoming for Tiffanie, a born-and-raised Vancouverite.
