Ted Pennell – Chief Information Officer for Camosun College

PFM Executive Search is proud to announce the appointment of Ted Pennell at Camosun College as Chief Information Officer of the organization.

Ted was the Director of Information Technology at School District 61, and will bring his wealth of experience working with school districts to manage the use of technology, technical infrastructure, and systems to Camosun. He led many successful initiatives to implement technology that improved the student and teacher experience throughout district schools, including a more responsive and flexible customer service model, and is skilled at developing dynamic and collaborative teams.

PFM Welcomes New Consultant, Matthew Bell

Matthew Bell recently joined PFM Executive Search as its newest Consultant. Previously, Matthew worked at another executive search firm where he collaborated and provided support on executive search, board recruitment, and director candidate assignments.

Prior to that, Matthew worked as a risk consultant and advisor where he researched and authored reputational due diligence reports that enabled his clients to minimize their risk and make informed strategic decisions. Matthew has also served time within the fast-paced world of advertising as an account executive where he was responsible for optimizing client satisfaction and delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.

Born and bred in Sydney, Australia, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) degree obtained from the University of Sydney and also possesses the designation of Certified Researcher Associate, which he obtained through the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC). Outside of the office he is an enthusiastic hiker, a lover of live music, a regular blood donor and a keen volunteer for various causes.

Larry Thomas – Fire Chief for the City of Surrey

PFM Executive Search was retained by the City of Surrey to assist in the recruitment of its next Fire Chief with the retirement of long-serving Chief, Len Garis. PFM is happy to share the announcement of Larry Thomas’ appointment as the new Fire Chief of the City of Surrey. Larry has had a long and distinguished career with the Surrey Fire Service spanning 30 years where he previously held the positions of Firefighter, Fire Suppression Captain, and Deputy Chief of Operations. In his new role, Larry will be responsible for leading the Surrey Fire Service in the delivery of fire suppression, first response, protection, education, prevention and safety services for residents and visitors of Surrey. Larry serves as the Lower Mainland Zone Director for the Fire Chiefs Association of BC and is the Vice President of the Greater Vancouver Fire Chiefs Association. Larry also volunteers as Director, Board Vice Chair and Finance Committee Chair for Surrey Hospital Foundation.
