PFM Executive Search isn’t all business all the time, and in June 2019 the PFM staff took a short break from the executive search world to celebrate last year’s wins. It was a beautiful day and a great opportunity to catch up with everyone’s families and soak in the sun. PFM has been one of Canada’s most respected executive search firms for over 25 years.

Larry Thomas – Fire Chief for the City of Surrey

PFM Executive Search was retained by the City of Surrey to assist in the recruitment of its next Fire Chief with the retirement of long-serving Chief, Len Garis. PFM is happy to share the announcement of Larry Thomas’ appointment as the new Fire Chief of the City of Surrey. Larry has had a long and distinguished career with the Surrey Fire Service spanning 30 years where he previously held the positions of Firefighter, Fire Suppression Captain, and Deputy Chief of Operations. In his new role, Larry will be responsible for leading the Surrey Fire Service in the delivery of fire suppression, first response, protection, education, prevention and safety services for residents and visitors of Surrey. Larry serves as the Lower Mainland Zone Director for the Fire Chiefs Association of BC and is the Vice President of the Greater Vancouver Fire Chiefs Association. Larry also volunteers as Director, Board Vice Chair and Finance Committee Chair for Surrey Hospital Foundation.

Britt Andersen – Chief Executive Officer for Canucks Autism Network

PFM Executive Search is proud to announce the appointment of Britt Andersen at the Canucks Autism Network (CAN) as Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

Britt joins CAN from The Terry Fox Foundation where he served as Executive Director, providing leadership to 45 staff and 16,880 volunteers, across 10 Canadian offices. An award-winning leader, Britt brings business, fundraising and non-profit acumen and a record of accomplishment in environments that demand creative solutions and continuous improvement.

Jennifer Ingham – Vice President, University Relations for Capilano University

PFM Executive Search is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Ingham at Capilano University as Vice President, University Relations. This is a new position at Capilano University, developed from the former role of executive director, advancement. As a member of the University’s executive leadership group, the VP guides university positioning and provides strategic direction to raise the University’s profile, secure support for its priorities and strengthen relationships between the University, its primary partners and stakeholders.

As a senior executive with over 25 years of not-for-profit experience in education, health care, social services and museums, Jennifer’s specializations include relationship management, strategic planning, revenue development, marketing and operational management. Her expertise in board governance, stakeholder relations, team leadership and strategic planning has always been purpose-driven—she works to make a positive impact on diverse and changing communities.

Jennifer’s career highlights include seven years as the vice president, development for Easter Seals, BC and BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities and five years as vice president, development for Science World, British Columbia. As a consultant and in previous roles, Jennifer’s advisory, fundraising and capital campaign skills have supported the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation; the Arthritis Society, BC & Yukon; the Canadian Museum of Human Rights; BCIT and St. Augustine’s School Faith and Foundation capital campaign.
