PFM Team Volunteers at Powell Street Getaway

PFM Executive Search strives to make an impact at the community level by supporting a diversity of organizations that make a difference. During the holiday season, PFM was proud to volunteer at the Powell Street Getaway, which is also known as the Living Room Activity/Drop-in Centre.

The Powell Street Getaway is a resource centre for adults in the downtown east side who have serious mental illness, mental or physical disabilities. The centre offers a safe environment and a range of programs and services, including computer and camera clubs, meditation, skill development and education groups. Meals are also offered daily.

We all know that the holidays can be a very difficult and challenging time for many. To show our admiration and support for the amazing work The Powell Street Getaway is doing for the local community, the entire PFM staff recently visited the centre. Staff got involved in preparing gifts, wrapping presents, sorting donated clothing and prepping food for the holiday season.

PFM was delighted to volunteer and show our support for this initiative, and we wish everyone at the Powell Street Getaway a safe and happy new year!

PFM Executive Search Names New Partner

June 21, 2016 – Vancouver, BC. PFM Executive Search is proud to announce the naming of Allison Rzen as Partner. Allison has been with PFM for 16 years, most recently as Associate Partner, and is committed to continuing to build on the firm’s reputation for developing long-term relationships and for delivering high levels of customer service and client satisfaction.

“One of Allison’s many strengths is her ability to get down to the core of what makes people tick and truly understand what clients and candidates are looking for,” said PFM co-founding partner George Madden. “She embodies PFM’s culture and unique approach to helping both our clients and candidates succeed. Having Allison on the management team as an equity partner strengthens our capabilities and positions us for continued success and growth.”

Allison started at PFM in 1999 as a research associate, transitioning after five years to the role of consultant and later senior consultant.  In 2008 she was named Associate Partner. Before joining PFM, Allison coordinated convention services for the Greater Vancouver Convention and Visitors Bureau. Her blend of business acumen and exceptional interpersonal abilities enable her to quickly identify the specific skills and intangible qualities required by companies to be successful in today’s rapidly changing business environment.

Allison resides on Vancouver’s north shore where she and her husband are raising two young children and where she is fulfilling her passion for community involvement. She currently serves as a commissioner on the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission and as a member of the North Vancouver District Public Library Board. “It’s an honour to be able to continue what has been built at PFM and what has made us so successful in meeting our clients’ ever-evolving challenges,” said Allison. “We have a very strong and positive culture that seems to really resonate with our clients – and I know plays a big part in our team’s drive to adapt to and meet our clients’ business needs.”

PFM Welcomes its Newest Recruiting Associate

Many of you may be familiar with Maggie Ow who has been one of our outstanding Project Coordinators since 2012, ensuring our executive search assignments run smoothly and efficiently. When an opportunity arose to add to our Recruiting Associate team, we knew the best candidate was in our ranks, and Maggie officially joined the group this fall.

Maggie brings a very unique background to this role. She holds a BA in Fashion Design and Technology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and was a designer for five years for the labels Mac & Jac and Kensie. A move to the UK saw her transition her career to the finance industry, where Maggie became Executive Assistant in a large financial services firm.

Upon returning to her hometown of Vancouver, Maggie decided she wanted to stay in the corporate world and we were lucky enough to have her join the PFM team. Maggie proved to be an outstanding Project Coordinator. She was able to build an excellent rapport with our candidates and clients. Her attention to detail was second-to-none, and she was able to push her team members to ensure search projects were managed effectively and efficiently.

The role of Recruiting Associate requires two key factors: tenacity and natural curiosity. Maggie has both of these in spades and she has been a natural fit for the role. We know you will continue to enjoy working with Maggie on various assignments.

Please join us in congratulating Maggie on this well-deserved promotion.
