Chief Executive Officer

Replacing a long-serving leader who has been with the organization since 2001, this is a pivotal time for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join the Health & Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) and support the organization as it sets a vision for the future of the organization that includes a brand new respite centre on the North Shore due to open in 2025.

The CEO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations including fundraising, program development, financial management, and staff supervision. Reporting to the Board of Directors, they will ensure the organization is fulfilling its mission and serving the community effectively. A strong advocate for the organization, the CEO will promote awareness of programs and goals and will also be
responsible for cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with key external partners including donors, funders, and community leaders. The CEO will work closely and collaboratively with the Board to guide strategy for the organization, providing institutional knowledge and context for new and returning Board members, and will effectively lead the staff and volunteer teams to ensure operational priorities and objectives are being met. As a mentor to staff, the CEO will motivate and empower the team to achieve their best work.

As the ideal candidate you are an experienced, credible, and reliable professional who is passionate about Care BC’s mission. In addition to your operational experience, you are a motivational leader who inspires others to engage with Care BC’s mission and vision, able to balance short-term needs with long-term planning. You are an excellent communicator who is able to represent and advocate for Care BC to a variety of audiences, supporting the team in providing culturally-appropriate services to a highly diverse clientele. You bring an understanding of BC’s healthcare system and are known as a strong collaborator, community builder, and administrator, with a track record in raising funds. You have ideally have run all aspects of an organization and worked closely with Boards of Directors to guide strategy development and set priorities. Your leadership experience in healthcare is preferably augmented by a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
