Health & Home Care Society of BC
Chief Executive Officer

Since 1898, the Health & Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) has taken care of British Columbians through healthcare initiatives tailored to the communities it serves. An independent, BC-based not-for-profit organization, Care BC continues this tradition of caring today with preventive and supportive health services that keep people healthy and in the comfort of their own homes and communities. Guided by its mission to provide health promotion and supportive care services to communities in British Columbia, Care BC’s charitable programs – Meals on Wheels, Family Respite Centre, and Community Integration Project – focus on supporting seniors, caregivers, and other people at risk of isolation.

This is a pivotal time for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join Care BC and support the organization as it sets a vision for the future that includes a brand new respite centre on the North Shore that’s due to open in 2025. The CEO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations including program growth, staff development, financial management, and fundraising. Reporting to the Board of Directors, they will ensure the organization is fulfilling its mission and serving the community effectively. A strong advocate for the organization, the CEO will promote awareness of programs and goals and will also be responsible for cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with key external partners including donors, funders, and community leaders. The CEO will work closely and collaboratively with the Board to guide strategy for the organization, providing institutional knowledge and context for new and returning Board members, and will effectively lead staff and volunteer teams to ensure operational priorities and objectives are being met. As a mentor to staff, the CEO will motivate and empower the team to achieve their best work.

As the ideal candidate you are an experienced, credible, and reliable health professional who has provided services for seniors. and who is passionate about the work of Care BC. You bring operational and senior leadership expertise, with experience motivating and supporting both staff and volunteers. Committed to achieving Care BC’s goals, you are an excellent communicator who is able to represent and advocate for Care BC to a variety of audiences, and you are also able to support the team to provide culturally-appropriate services to a highly diverse clientele. You bring experience in both healthcare as well in a not-for profit setting, and you have a track record in raising funds. You have ideally run  all aspects of an organization and worked closely with Boards of Directors to guide strategy development and set priorities. Your leadership experience in healthcare is augmented by a Masters’ degree in nursing or another health related field.

The targeted salary range for this position is $132,230 – $198,236 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
