Director, Community Hub Project (Contract)
Located in the southwest corner of the Lower Mainland, 45 kilometres from Vancouver and only 5 minutes to the US/Canada border, the City of White Rock is a boutique, ocean-side community of approximately 22,000 citizens clustered around an 8-kilometre sandy beach and the warm, shallow waters of Semiahmoo Bay. In line with Council Priorities, the City is embarking on planning and building a Community Hub that will become a central gathering point for the local community. The project is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a legacy facility that will serve as the heart of White Rock’s community for generations to come.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director, Community Hub Project will lead this ambitious and transformative $42-62M Community Hub Initiative. Working collaboratively with the Internal Community Hub Steering Committee, and all the appropriate external partners and constituents, the Director will oversee the development of the Community Hub master plan and will steward the project from initiation all the way through to project execution. Throughout the initiative, the Director will provide support, guidance, and updates to the project team, the White Rock community, and Council.
The ideal candidate is a visionary, dynamic, and experienced senior leader with outstanding planning, organizational and interpersonal skills. Able to proactively anticipate hurdles along the way, and consistently exercise sound judgment in navigating the Community Hub Project execution, the Director will possess a broad range of relevant knowledge of the myriad of considerations and actions that go into making a community-building project of this size, scope, and complexity a success. A naturally confident and collaborative individual, they will develop effective working relationships with employees, community leaders, and variety of external partners in the pursuit of a facility that will offer unmatched services to citizens for generations to come.
The targeted salary range for this position is $144,200 – $169,648 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package. This role is intended to be a contract position.
