The Director, Cloud Technology & Infrastructure Services (CTIS) plays a leadership role in BCIT’s digital transformation and modernization. Reporting to the AVP, Digital Transformation & CIO (AVP & CIO), you will provide strategic direction to the Cloud Technology & Infrastructure Services function, and lead the modernization and delivery of cloud technology, network and cloud administration, data centre, and infrastructure services. Taking a long-term view and considering the current and future needs of students, faculty and staff, you will oversee the development of infrastructure roadmaps and the end-to-end lifecycle of projects, and you will ensure availability and capacity management for ongoing sustainable and resilient technology needs.

As a strategic advisor to the AVP & CIO and an integral member of the ITS leadership team, you will ensure the realization of ITS responsibilities, strategies, goals, and projects. The role requires building a comprehensive understanding of the Institute’s environment and working closely with senior leaders, functional owners, and departments to foster collaboration and achieve mutual goals. You will also engage with various partners to develop plans in line with ministry mandates, focusing on the modernization of applications and associated services.

As the successful candidate, you will engage with sector peers, vendors, and technology providers to ensure BCIT stays at the forefront of technological advancements. By promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, the Director will drive the transformation of services across the Institute.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced technology leader with a proven track record in long-term infrastructure planning, particularly transitioning an organization into cloud-based services. You have built long-term roadmaps that set an organization on a course for future sustainability and resilience, and have experience leading complex, multi-year projects. You possess a comprehensive understanding of how technology drives value and operational success in large, multi-faceted, publicly-funded environments and are adept at navigating these complex landscapes to ensure effective change management and collaboration. With a supportive leadership approach, you mentor, manage and coach teams to enhance skills and foster professional growth as needs and roles evolve and change. Additionally, you embody a commitment to continuous learning and education, reflecting the core values of BCIT.

Your extensive experience in IT and business/industry at progressive levels of leadership responsibility is augmented by a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or another related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

The salary range for the Director, Cloud Technology and Infrastructure Services position is $149,823 – 215,370 and the control point is $187,278. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and the control point of the salary range for a job, taking internal equity into account.
