JA British Columbia (JABC)
President & Chief Executive Officer

JA British Columbia (JABC) is a member of JA Canada and part of JA Worldwide, one of the world’s largest and most impactful youth-serving nonprofits. Since 1955, JABC has inspired and prepared youth to succeed in an everchanging global economy. In the 2022-23 school year, close to 65,000 BC youth, including over 2,000 Indigenous youth, benefited from JA programs delivered free of charge by volunteers who bring their real-life experience into the classroom. JA programs focus on work readiness, financial health and entrepreneurship, giving students the confidence and skills they need to become the next generation of business and community leaders.

An incredible opportunity exists to lead one of BC’s premier not-for-profit organizations. The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JABC will be an inspirational and dynamic individual who is passionate about the intrinsic value of youth education.

The CEO will champion the mission, vision and values of JABC with a view to ensuring JABC builds educational program delivery capacity across the province. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide leadership and direction on all aspects of JABC’s activities, including day to day operations, strategic visioning, and fundraising. The CEO will have a strong focus on community, donors, partners, JA Canada stakeholders and volunteers. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Board to execute on the annual Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame Gala, which is a high profile celebration of BC’s business leaders.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for youth education and advancing entrepreneurism and innovation in youth for the benefit of the province’s future economy. A well-respected leader and fundraiser, they will be highly collaborative with the ability to successfully champion the cause at all levels, including provincially and nationally. A gifted relationship builder and communicator, the new CEO will bring a successful track record in creating innovative fund development initiatives that have resulted in increased value and revenue for an organization. The CEO will place integrity and ethics above all else and will be an engaging presence when dealing with students, staff, Board members, donors, stakeholders and the community as a whole.

The targeted salary range for this position is $175,000 to $215,000 annually, supplemented by a performance bonus and a competitive total rewards package.
