Director, Financial Services

Located in the beautiful Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university that enrolls approximately 15,000 students per year. UFV has campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope, as well as a growing presence in Chandigarh, India. UFV offers more than 100 programs, including two master’s degrees, 15 bachelor’s degrees, majors, minors, and extended minors in more than 30 subject areas, and more than a dozen trades and technology programs.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Financial Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the University of the Fraser Valley. The Director, Financial Services is responsible for the financial administration and statutory financial reporting for the University and provides strategic leadership and management to all aspects of financial operations, accounting, payroll, forecasting, managing key performance indicators and financial reporting. The Director, Financial Services will engage with University leadership and cross-departmental teams to define and implement Institutional strategies designed to support the achievement of UFV’s goals, students and academic mission.  In addition, the Director plays an integral role in establishing and maintaining the University’s financial integrity and supports the goals and priorities of the University’s integrated plans.

The successful individual will have demonstrated an ability to produce practical financial information which allows senior leaders to make informed decisions and will be skilled at enabling new ideas. In addition, they will ideally bring experience in project implementation and sound knowledge of how to create integrated people and systems plans into the overall operations of a large and complex organization.

The targeted salary range for this position is $122,418 to $163,224 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
