Our team of almost 100 staff collaborates with VCH leadership, medical and administrative staff to raise philanthropic funds and awareness. Together with our donors and supporters and volunteers, we have made a direct and significant impact on health care in our province. Our 2023-24 consolidated revenue, including lotteries and investments, totaled $127.40 million. We are proud to report that in 2023-24 the Foundation’s cost per dollar raised was 19 cents (excluding lottery & real estate-related revenue & expenses).

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation is named as one of BC’s Top Employers for 2025 and is accredited by Imagine Canada for excellence in nonprofit accountability, transparency and governance.

We are seeking a Vice President, Finance (VP) to provide vision and leadership to the Finance division, comprising the Finance & Accounting, Gift Processing, and Information Systems units. The collective team comprises about 15 individuals, reporting up to the VP through several Directors.

The Vice President, Finance will be a key member of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation executive leadership team. Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP will contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organization. The VP provides counsel to the organization on financial performance, capital investment, contract management, risk management, complex gifting strategies and opportunities, and supports the thoughtful evolution of technology and business innovation.

Providing focus and leadership support to the Director of Finance, the Director of IS, and Manager of Gift Processing, the VP sets the direction for long-term, organization- wide finance and information needs and develops the overall strategy for the organization’s financial management.

The Vice President, Finance will be a strategic and forward-thinking financial leader with expertise in property development, investment strategy, financing and construction loan strategies, cash flow and risk management, and financial analysis. As the Foundation embarks on a $1B comprehensive campaign and a major property redevelopment project, this individual will play a critical role in financial governance, risk oversight, and government relations to ensure seamless execution.

They will bring extensive experience in managing large-scale real estate investments, structuring high-value funding strategies, and optimizing financial sustainability in a mission-driven environment. A trusted executive partner, they will work closely with the CEO, Board, and Investment, Finance, and Audit Committee to align financial strategy with the Foundation’s long-term vision.

With a high-performing finance team in place, this leader will focus on big-picture strategy—leveraging their expertise in philanthropic finance, investment oversight, and long-term financial planning. A visionary leader, they will be committed to making a lasting impact on healthcare innovation in British Columbia.

The target hiring range for this position is between $189,767 and 215,645. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional variable pay, benefits, pension, flexible working arrangements, investment in professional development and subsidized access to fitness, cycling and parking facilities all contribute to a top-notch total rewards package for employees.
