With deep gratitude and respect, VSB is honoured to be learning and unlearning on the ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Swxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). VSB embraces Indigenous ways of knowing and learning and works to expand Indigenous perspectives across the curriculum and within its schools and programs, where nearly 5% of students identify as being of Indigenous ancestry. Equity and inclusivity are central to VSB’s approach to education. Its 7,700 staff foster learning environments where students thrive by prioritizing their needs, using evidence-informed practices, and building strong relationships. VSB’s culture reflects the diversity of Vancouver and the communities it serves.
