Jerry Chen – Associate Vice President, Human Resources (Communities of Expertise) – University of British Columbia

Jerry brings over twenty years of experience in the human resources practice in various sectors, most recently at Pacific Blue Cross where he led a complex compensation transformation project. Jerry also brings experience in Talent Acquisition where he spearheaded an Indigenous recruitment initiative. He has worked closely with Workday and has experience in driving Robotic Process Automation to reduce administrative work.

Richard Porges – President & CEO – Destination BC

Following an extensive global search, PFM Executive Search in Vancouver, BC is excited to announce that Richard Porges has been selected as the new President and CEO of Destination BC, effective immediately.

Richard previously served as the corporation’s Acting President and CEO, and Vice President of Corporate Development, prior to that. Richard joined the corporation’s research department in 1999 and moved to progressively more senior roles within the BC Provincial Government, and with Destination BC. As Vice President of Corporate Development, Richard provided strategic leadership for Destination BC’s corporate communications, research and analytics, human resources, and corporate services departments. Before joining Destination BC, Richard taught in the Economics, MBA, and MPA programs at the University of Victoria, and was a consultant for several government and non-profit organizations.

Richard brings the leadership, government and tourism-sector relationships, and strategic skills to undertake this role, drive the organization’s goals, and support BC’s tourism industry through some of the biggest challenges the sector has ever faced. Aly Devji – CEO – Langley Care Society

Aly possesses a distinguished background in seniors care. He is one of the former owners, operators, and visionaries of the Deltaview Campus of Care and is also the current President of BC Care Providers Association, which is the industry association for service providers in the seniors living and wellness sector.

Aly has many years of experience leading large organizations. He is an influential leader, highly respected in the sector, and has experience collaborating with all levels of government and business leaders to create seniors living and wellness services for British Columbians. Aly began his new role with Langley Care Society on July 19th, 2021.

Ellen Tian – Regional District of Nanaimo – General Manager, Engineering & Utilities

Ellen has 20+ years of professional experience with 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including 8 years at the Director’s level with the City of Edmonton. She is a professional engineer and holds a Master of Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta.

Jason Ong – Director, Registration – Engineers and Geoscientists BC

PFM Executive Search is delighted to announce the appointment of Jason Ong as the new Director, Registration for Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Jason commenced this new role on June 1, 2021. Jason has been with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as a member of the Registration Department since 2008. Throughout his time with the organization, he held a variety of positions and has been a part of the department’s management team since 2012. Jason holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia with majors in Psychology and English Literature.

As Director, Registration, Jason Ong is responsible for all applications for professional registrant and trainee status for engineering and geoscience. This includes oversight of the registration process and in particular the review of academic credentials and the evaluation of experience through competency-based assessment.
