Suchin will continue to support clients in a wide range of search assignments while providing guidance and mentorship to the Research team at PFM.

Suchin has over six years of talent acquisition experience and his background covers a wide array of managerial and executive recruitment in both the public and private sectors.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Suchin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree obtained from the University of British Columbia. Outside of the office, he is an avid reader, enjoys spending time outdoors, and travelling.

Jerry Chen – Associate Vice President, Human Resources (Communities of Expertise) – University of British Columbia

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Jerry Chen has been selected as the new Associate Vice President, Human Resources (Communities of Expertise) for the University of British Columbia, effective September 7th, 2021.

Jerry brings over twenty years of experience in the human resources practice in various sectors, most recently at Pacific Blue Cross where he led a complex compensation transformation project. Jerry also brings experience in Talent Acquisition where he spearheaded an Indigenous recruitment initiative. He has worked closely with Workday and has experience in driving Robotic Process Automation to reduce administrative work.

Dale Mullings – Associate Vice President, Students for The University of British Columbia – Okanagan

PFM Executive Search is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dale Mullings as the new Associate Vice President, Students for The University of British Columbia – Okanagan! He will commence his employment on September 1st, 2020.

Dale comes to UBC from the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), where he has served since 2013 as Assistant Dean, Students and International Initiatives. Previously, he served as UTM’s Director, Residence and Student Life, and Director of Student Housing and Residence Life, and was an Instructor in Education Studies.

A skilled administrator and communicator, Dale has a strong record of collaboration with students, faculty, staff and community members. With an emphasis on integrated learning, he has led the development of several major student learning and development initiatives in partnership with academic departments, local school boards and non-profit organizations, and globally with non-governmental organizations and universities abroad. These included the Centre for Student Engagement, the International Education Centre and, in consultation with the Council of Aboriginal Initiatives Elders’ Circle, UTM’s Indigenous Centre.

Dale holds a Master of Education degree in higher education from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in political science and English, and is a PhD candidate in leadership, adult and higher education at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

Larry Bouthillier – Executive Director, Extended Learning for The University of British Columbia (UBC)

PFM Executive is excited to announce that Larry Bouthillier has been appointed Executive Director, Extended Learning (ExL) with The University of British Columbia (UBC).

Larry was most recently the Senior Director of Digital Learning Initiatives at Brown University, where he was responsible for the planning, design and development of digital learning initiatives, programs and products, and for leading the Online Innovation Team.

Larry’s previous roles include Director of Online Learning at New England Institute of Technology; Director of Educational Technology & Multimedia Development at Harvard Business School; and Course Designer/Developer at the Harvard Extension School, where he remains an Adjunct Professor teaching Computer Science.

As the new Executive Director, Larry’s focus will be to continue to develop ExL’s portfolio of programs and support services aligned with Strategy 13: Practical Learning of the strategic plan, Shaping UBC’s Next Century and to ensure UBC and ExL are well positioned to deliver the innovative programs that learners are demanding throughout various phases of their careers and lives.

A key part of ExL’s mandate is to collaborate with and support Faculties to develop programs and courses for non-degree learners. Collaborations already underway include the 11 proposals funded through the inaugural Online Learning Advancement Fund (OLAF) and, with the Department of Computer Science, the development of short courses for mid-career learners, through pilot funding from the Province of British Columbia.

Alicia Oeser – Director, Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Office for The University of British Columbia (UBC)

PFM Executive Search is thrilled to announce that Alicia Oeser has been appointed as the new Director, Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Office for the University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus.

Over the past six years, Alicia has served as the Director for the office responding to sexual and gender-based violence and harassment at both Harvard University and UCLA. She is a passionate and energetic leader with 13 years of experience working to support and advocate for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and harassment. She also brings significant expertise in creating cultures of compassion, mutual respect and accountability.

UBC’s Office of Sexual Violence Prevention & Response is the primary point of contact for survivors of sexual violence and misconduct, as well as for their family, friends, colleagues and supervisors.
