PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Alexa Young has accepted the role of Vice President, Government Relations and External Affairs with the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority effective July 2nd, 2025.
“Young brings more than 20 years of senior executive experience across the natural resources, energy, technology, telecommunications, and public policy sectors. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Policy, Government Relations and Public Affairs at New Economy Canada, where she led sustainable economic development, clean technology adoption, and responsible resource development. She has previously held leadership roles with the BC Council of Forest Industries, the BC Softwood Lumber Trade Council, TELUS, and Teck Resources.
Young holds a Master of Science in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies from Queen’s University, and a Professional Specialization Certificate in Public Policy and Governance from the University of Victoria.
She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board at North Shore Neighbourhood House and as a Board Member of Family Services of Greater Vancouver. She is also a member of BC Premier David Eby’s Trade and Economic Security Taskforce and has previously served on the boards of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Digital Technology Supercluster, and the U.S. National Mining Association.” (VFPA)
