30 years ago, PFM Executive Search was formed with the vision of creating an executive search firm that provides tailor-made executive search services to clients in the private, public and not-for-profit Sectors. At PFM we are committed to supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; this commitment is woven into our values and beliefs as an organization. Our team acknowledges the unique challenges and structural barriers that marginalized groups face within the work place. Cameron MacRae – Vice President, Marketing & Sales – Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Cameron MacRae has accepted the role of Vice President, Marketing & Sales with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, effective June 6th.

Cameron joins VSO from Edmonton Opera, where he shared their story with their community, oversaw marketing and public relations, as well as the company’s community engagement and education programs as their Director of Marketing and Communications. Cameron brings to this role extensive experience in cultivating patron loyalty, designing strategic communications that drive results, and overseeing digital content creation with over 11 years of experience in arts marketing.

Stefan Hawes – Vice President, Global Marketing – Destination Vancouver

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Stefan Hawes has accepted the role of Vice President, Global Marketing at Destination Vancouver, effective June 1, 2022.

Stefan brings 25+ years of experience in marketing, working with many of BC’s most loved and respected brands, as well as global brands in Shanghai, Amsterdam and San Francisco. He’s led the development of strategies for marketing agencies to help them differentiate themselves and succeed, as well as led the implementation of these strategies, and development of their executions across all media, with particular depth in digital channels.

Gabrielle Smith – Director, People & Culture – Smythe LLP

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Gabrielle Smith has accepted the role of Director, People & Culture with Smythe LLP, effective May 11th.

Gabrielle joins Smythe LLP from United Way British Columbia, where she successfully led several key projects, particularly the organization’s response to Covid-19 and its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts. Gabrielle brings to this role extensive experience in a number of industries, including marine/ship management, IT and hospitality. She has also had an enduring relationship with the non-profit MOSAIC, having served on their Board for seven years as President, Vice President and Secretary.

David Pavan – Engineers and Geoscientists BC – Chief Regulatory Officer & Registrar

PFM Executive Search is pleased to share the appointment of David Pavan, R.Ph., as the new Chief Regulatory Officer & Registrar of the Engineers and Geoscientists BC, effective July 18, 2022. In this role, David will oversee the organization’s regulatory functions for both individual and firm registrants, including admissions, registration, practice standards, enforcement, legislation, and investigation and discipline. David is a registered pharmacist with a strong background in professional regulation. He has extensive management experience in the pharmacy industry and has provided strategic leadership and oversight of regulatory functions in highly regulated organizations throughout his 28-year career.

Most recently, David served as the Deputy Registrar for the BC College of Pharmacists, where he was responsible for the organization’s registration, licensure, practice review, quality assurance, complaints, and investigation functions. During his 6 years with the College, he built collaborative relationships across multiple organizations and health authorities; experience that will be an asset to Engineers and Geoscientists BC as the organization seeks to collaborate with its partners under the Professional Governance Act to strengthen effective regulation, responsiveness and decision making.
