Parv Bal – Director, Operations – BC Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA)

PFM Executive Search is pleased to announce the search for British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) has resulted in the selection and appointment of Parv Bal as the newest Director of Operations within the BCMEA’s Training, Safety and Recruitment department, effective September 16, 2024. As part of his mandate, Parv will lead teams in Prince Rupert, at the Waterfront Training Center in Vancouver, in Instructional Design, and will oversee waterfront trades and recruitment initiatives.

With over 20 years of expertise in operations planning and management spanning aviation, waste management, and transportation, Parv has successfully led diverse teams in several roles including District Manager, Director of Operations, and VP of Customer Service & Operations. He brings an impressive track record of moving large change initiatives forward within heavily unionized environments.

Parv’s educational background includes participation in and completion of Advanced Leadership from the University of Victoria, Six Sigma, Greenbelt, and Risk Management & Incident Investigation from Lloyd’s Register.

Annette Garm – Chief Executive Officer – Care BC

Annette brings a wealth of leadership experience in health and community-based care and has served in multiple senior clinical and administrative leadership positions in culturally diverse rural and urban settings.

Much of her professional work has focused on improving the care of vulnerable and marginalized communities while amplifying the voices of patients, their families and caregivers through skillful advocacy.

Annette is committed to the importance of cultural respect in health and social care and the principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Having worked with Indigenous communities in BC and the NWTs, Annette is informed in Indigenous Cultural Safety. Her work and perspective honour collective cultures and history and she is committed to the respectful engagement of all in the delivery of health and social care of vulnerable and at-risk populations. Aamir Bharmal – Chief Medical Officer – WorkSafeBC

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Aamir Bharmal  has accepted the role of Chief Medical Officer with WorkSafeBC effective November 4th, 2024.

Dr. Bharmal is a public health physician who is passionate about injury and disease prevention, epidemiology, and health quality. He comes to WorkSafeBC from the BC Centre for Disease Control, where he has been serving as medical director of public health response, supporting provincial public health emergency preparedness and response, particularly for emerging infectious diseases.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bharmal will focus on health care strategy, professional practice, outcome-focused treatment pathways, identifying emerging trends, and enhancing WorkSafeBC’s internal and external engagement and education.
