Victoria Lee – President & Chief Executive Officer for Fraser Health Authority

Dr. Victoria Lee has been appointed the new President & CEO of Fraser Health Authority, one of the largest and most complex health care leadership roles in Canada following a national competition. As a leader, experienced administrator, physician and researcher, Dr. Lee brings with her a deep understanding of the health care system and the needs of the people within it – both those receiving care and those providing it.

Dr.  Lee most recently served as Chief Medical Health Officer and Vice-President, Population Health at Fraser Health. Prior to joining Fraser Health, Dr. Lee worked in consultative roles with national and international organizations including the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank in the areas of comparative health systems, health policy, health financing and ecohealth. She also worked as a travel physician in rural communities in Chile and Brazil.

PFM Executive Search was engaged by the Board of Fraser Health Authority to create a fair, open and transparent proactive search process identifying potential CEO candidates from across Canada who would be well qualified to take on this major leadership role. Through the competition for the position Dr. Lee demonstrated being an advocate for wellness, a supporter of healthy workplaces and a well-versed authority on the social determinants of health.

As Fraser Health Board Chair, Jim Sinclair stated “Those of you who know Dr. Lee have likely experienced her warmth and also her sharp visionary outlook. She is both a natural innovator and a champion of health-equity. The Board has every confidence that Victoria will use her experience and knowledge to provide the highest level of leadership and continue to move Fraser Health forward in delivering the highest quality care services in a patient centered manner”.

PFM Executive Search worked closely with the CEO Selection Committee and with the Board of Directors in facilitating the selection of Dr. Lee who replaces retiring President & CEO, Michael Marchbank. PFM Executive Search has been engaged by Fraser Health on a number of senior leadership searches including two President & CEO search projects over many years.

The extensive health care leadership recruitment conducted by PFM Executive Search over 26-years makes our firm a preeminent firm in Western Canada for finding senior leaders in this sector.
