Marcia Turner – Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Education and Engagement – Vancouver Island University

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Marcia Turner has accepted the role of Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Education and Engagement with Vancouver Island University, effective July 18th, 2022.

Marcia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, drawing from 25 years of working with a diverse range of organizations at the community, provincial, national, and international levels. Her career has included positions with public agencies, non-profit organizations, governments, and post-secondary institutions. In addition to her extensive administrative and post-secondary experience, Marcia brings a deep understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing, as well as guiding Indigenous concepts into organizational systems. She believes in the transformative power of education and her values, stemming from the teachings of various elders and chiefs, include the importance of authenticity, honouring traditions, and respect for diversity. David Alexander – University Librarian – Vancouver Island University

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that David Alexander has accepted the role of University Librarian with Vancouver Island University, effective April 19th, 2022.

David brings 12 years of exceptional, relevant experience from his service with the Royal BC Museum, where he most recently served as Acting Vice President of Collections and Research. In this role, he oversaw a broad portfolio including preservation of and access to the provincial museum, archives, and library collections; partnerships; Indigenous engagement and repatriation; research and registration; conservation; and digitization services. Dr. Andrew Deonarine – Medical Lead, Informatics – Northern Health

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Dr. Andrew Deonarine has accepted the role of Medical Lead, Informatics with Northern Health effective March 1st, 2022.

Prior to joining Northern Health, Andrew was the Clinical Data Scientist and Head of Data Engineering with a start-up organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts called XY.ai. Andrew has an impressive combination of clinical and informatics expertise, and his educational background includes degrees from prestigious institutions including Western University, the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, the University of Cambridge, and Harvard Medical School. Angela Chirinian – Chief Human Resources Officer – BC Securities Commission

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Angela Chirinian has accepted the role of Chief Human Resources Officer with the BC Securities Commission effective March 7th, 2022. Angela joined the Commission from Electronic Arts, where she was a Strategic Operations Consultant. Exciting News From PFM Executive Search

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that valued employees, Matthew Bell and Maggie Ow have both been promoted to the position of Senior Consultant in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our client projects.

Matthew joined PFM as a Consultant in 2019, having previously worked as a Search Analyst at another executive search firm where he provided support on executive search, board recruitment, and director candidate assignments. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) degree obtained from the University of Sydney and also possesses the designation of Certified Researcher Associate, which he obtained through the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC). Outside of the office he is an enthusiastic hiker, a lover of live music, a regular blood donor, and a keen volunteer for various causes.

Maggie joined PFM in the fall of 2012 after having worked in London, UK for two years. She has grown with our firm and honed her skills by leading our research department before being promoted to the consulting team in 2019. Maggie has completed a range of projects across the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors and her in-depth experience in recruiting provides her with the ability to find and assess top talent across multiple industries. With her 9 years of experience in executive search, she brings a true commitment to client engagement and satisfaction which we know will continue in the years ahead. As a proud Vancouverite, Maggie enjoys spending time outdoors, playing volleyball, experiencing new cuisines, and is an avid traveller.
