PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that valued employees, Matthew Bell and Maggie Ow have both been promoted to the position of Senior Consultant in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our client projects.

Matthew joined PFM as a Consultant in 2019, having previously worked as a Search Analyst at another executive search firm where he provided support on executive search, board recruitment, and director candidate assignments. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) degree obtained from the University of Sydney and also possesses the designation of Certified Researcher Associate, which he obtained through the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC). Outside of the office he is an enthusiastic hiker, a lover of live music, a regular blood donor, and a keen volunteer for various causes.

Maggie joined PFM in the fall of 2012 after having worked in London, UK for two years. She has grown with our firm and honed her skills by leading our research department before being promoted to the consulting team in 2019. Maggie has completed a range of projects across the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors and her in-depth experience in recruiting provides her with the ability to find and assess top talent across multiple industries. With her 9 years of experience in executive search, she brings a true commitment to client engagement and satisfaction which we know will continue in the years ahead. As a proud Vancouverite, Maggie enjoys spending time outdoors, playing volleyball, experiencing new cuisines, and is an avid traveller.

Raf Jamil – Director, Human Resources – Pacific Blue Cross

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that on December 1st 2021, Raf Jamil will be joining Pacific Blue Cross as Director, Human Resources. In this role, Raf will play a key role in supporting PBC’s business leaders to deliver on their people strategies. In addition to developing and implementing programs to support PBC’s HR initiatives and the achievement of key performance indicators, he will be responsible for overseeing departmental planning, job evaluation, employee development, recruitment/retention and talent management/succession planning. Leading a team of Human Resources professionals, Raf will provide coaching, guidance and advice to the team and to leaders at all levels in the organization. Prior to this new role with PBC, Raf was the Director, Corporate Services with the Fraser Valley Regional District and before that he was the Associate Director, HR with the University of Saskatchewan. Kira Gerwing – Sacha Investments Ltd. – Chief Real Estate Investment Officer

Congratulations to Kira Gerwing for her appointment as Chief Real Estate Investment Officer for Sacha Investments Ltd., a newly created social purpose real estate development organization. Kira brings a breadth and depth of experience in social impact investing and supporting communities to thrive. Prior to joining Sacha, Kira was the Senior Manager of Community Investment with Vancity where she built expertise in affordable housing, green buildings, Indigenous business partnerships, local organic food systems, and social finance, and was able to make tangible differences in communities all around British Columbia. In this newly envisioned role with Sacha Investments, Kira will spearhead investments that will manifest in positive changes for people and communities.

Ming Tian – BC Pavilion Corporation – Senior Director, Infrastructure & Capital Projects

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that BC Pavilion Corporation has appointed Ming Tian as the new Senior Director, Infrastructure & Capital Projects. Ming started his new role on November 1, 2021.

In this key role, Ming will provide leadership to the Capital Projects team and to the organization overall on significant infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. Ming joined BC PavCo recently from the Foothills School Division where he was the Director, Facility Services. Prior roles include Acting Director and Project Manager with the Calgary Board of Education.

Ming brings a passion for continuous improvement with expertise in project management, facility management, sustainability, design, and construction. His professional experience is supplemented with his educational background which includes both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Lean Management Certification. Additionally, he is certified as a professional engineer and he holds certifications with the International Facility Management Association as a Certified Facility Manager and Facility Management Professional, with the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional, along with a LEED AP BD+C credential from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Outside of work, Ming enjoys working in his green garden and travelling to different places around the world. In addition, he is actively involved in volunteering work in his communities.

Denise Rossander – Vice President, and CIO, Information and Technology Services (ITS) – BC Assessment

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that BC Assessment has appointed Denise Rossander as the new Vice President, and CIO, Information and Technology Services (ITS). Denise started her role on October 25th, 2021.

Denise has extensive executive experience in the BC public sector as an Assistant Deputy Minister leading digital transformation, IT strategy and service delivery.  For the past five years, she has also served as Chief Information Officer responsible for leading the IT vision, strategy, investments and service delivery across five natural resource ministries. Denise values relationships and has a fundamental focus on people and culture. Denise holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Victoria.
