Greg Martyn – Chief Administrative Officer – Provincial Health Services Authority

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Greg Martyn has accepted the role of Chief Administrative Officer – Research with Provincial Health Services Authority effective November 4th/2024

Greg is well-known to the research community, having served eight years as the executive director of the Vice President, Research & Innovation Portfolio at the University of British Columbia. Prior to working at UBC, Greg was the director of operations at the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (now Michael Smith Health Research BC).  Before coming to Vancouver in 2013, Greg served as the administrative lead for the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project, the largest population cohort ever created in Canada.

As CAO – Research, Greg will support the Research and Academic Development Committee of the PHSA Board in its oversight and governance of all PHSA-related research and student education, leading organization-wide strategic planning related to research and student education, and leading activities to strengthen, standardize, and align research and student education platforms, processes, and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Kristy Anderson – Chief Health Improvement Networks – Provincial Health Services Authority

This is a new role, created to establish and sustain effective service delivery models for the health improvement networks and related contracted provincial services.

Kristy has been with the Ministry of Health since 2011, in a variety of senior leadership roles: from communications director to executive director of the Access and Wait Time branch to her current role of assistant deputy minister, Hospital and Provincial Health Services Division.  During her 13 years with MOH, she has developed and implemented successful strategic plans in B.C.’s health system, bringing creative and innovative solutions to improve the delivery of health care to people across the province.

Chris Mullen – Vice President, Finance – First Nations Health Authority

Emily Ortis – Director, Safety Systems & Assurance – BC Hydro

PFM Executive Search is excited to announce that Emily Ortis has joined BC Hydro as its newest Director, Safety Systems & Assurance effective October 7, 2024.

Emily is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, a Chartered Professional in Human Resources, a Certified Health & Safety Consultant, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with over 19 years experience in environment, health, and safety in various industries including utilities, oil & gas, construction, major projects and heavy industry.

She is joining BC Hydro from her most recent mandate at Pacific Northern Gas, where she’s held the role of Manager of Environment, Health, Safety & Security since 2021. In that role, she had accountability for all health, safety, environmental, and security-related matters within PNG’s natural gas transmission, distribution system, and a sour-to-sweet gas processing plant which provides service to over 42,000 customers in more than 16 communities across Northern British Columbia. She was also the Chair of the Environment, Health & Safety Committee for the Canadian Gas Association, and has held previous safety leadership roles at Finning International, Russel Metals, and Russell Hendrix.

BC Hydro is thrilled to have Emily bring her passion for driving safety culture improvements and risk management to the work at BC Hydro. She has demonstrated a deep commitment to safety and an enthusiasm for supporting her teams in doing their best work.
